Today is the first day of the Fit By Labor Day Challenge; the day I begin my journey back to my pre-baby body. Starting weight - 129 pounds. Eight weeks from today I hope to weigh 10 pounds lighter and lot firmer. I took a few before pictures of myself in a bikini, and I will post them at the end of the challenge to show my progress. I hope there’s quite a difference!
Here are some of the things that I’m going to do to reach my goal:
- Run – I’m going to do the Couch to 5K program. 9 weeks to go from not running to being able to run a 5K.
- Go on more walks with the kids – Cakes usually runs the entire time, so I’ll wear Bubby and power walk.
- Dance with the kids - 15 minutes every day, either with Bubby watching, or while I wear him.
- Play with Cakes – By running around the yard with her, playing tag, cantering around pretending to be horses, or whatever.
- Exercise with Bubby – By doing squats, sideway lunges, and calf raises while holding him when I put him down for his naps. 50 reps for each exercise.
- Do Random exercise - Crunches and push-ups randomly throughout the day when I get a spare minute.
- Eat a healthier diet – By cutting out sweets, watching portions, eating more fruits and veggies, eating breakfast, and drinking more water.
If I can stay committed to doing most of these things, I believe I can reach my goal. I’m anxious to start. It’s not going to be easy, but it’s going to feel great to get fit!

So far, so good! Started running yesterday. It was tough, but a good tough! How are you doing?
