What was I thinking when...
I signed up to run a 5K on Thanksgiving morning? It's not like the race starts before I am usually even up. Oh yeah, an hour before I'm usually up. And I'm not a morning person. And I don't like running in the cold, and it's a good bet that it will be cold.
And it's not like I don't have a busy day anyway.
What was I then thinking when...
I offered to be in charge of cooking the turkey. It's not like I've NEVER cooked a turkey in my entire life. Oh yeah, I've never even cooked a whole chicken, nonetheless a turkey. For Thanksgiving. For 18 people. At noon.
Really, what was I thinking???

You will be okay! If I can do it, you can do it!
Cooking a turkey is similar to cooking a whole chicken. Very easy. Shove it in the oven after rinsing out and putting stuffing in (I don't put stuffing in my bird, though), spices and oil on top, and let it roast for several hours. cover w/ foil if it starts to get too brown...my grocery store was giving handouts, too, which helps! (and so does marthastewart.com)
YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!
OMG What were you thinking? LOL Hope you have a great run! I'm sure the turkey will turn out just fine. You'll have to let us know! Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Chanda - what were you thinking???? LOL. Think of it this way - after they are both done, you will be able to say you did it and have two stories to tell. You can do it!
p.s. Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!
Well it's fodder for blogging if nothing else!! Good luck!
Cara
well, you'll be literally running around, but you can do it! I'm doing a thanksgiving run as well, love those because it lets me eat guilt free the rest of the day!
stopping from Sits, and following you now.....
I get so jealous of you Americans and your Thanksgiving preparations and celebrations. I did attend a thanksgiving dinner when I lived in London and it was great. Good luck with your 5k run. I found you via SITS.
