Poor, Poor, Pitiful Cakes
She has a stomach virus and it has wiped her out. My little chatty Cathy spent all day yesterday and this morning very quietly lying on the couch watching t.v. and napping. She is pretty weak as she couldn't hold anything but some fluids down yesterday. She's starving and really wants to eat but we're taking it slow. It's so sad seeing her like this. I hope she feels better soon!

Cakes begins gymnastics
Ever since the Olympics last summer, the Hubs and I have wanted to sign Cakes up for gymnastics. She loved watching all of the girls in their pretty leotards jumping around and dancing. We looked into a few places and decided on a very nice family owned gym. If Cakes decides to continue taking gymnastics and eventually compete, this gym would be able to fill the need.
She is currently in the beginner class, ages 3 -5. She was the youngest (she not 3 yet) and the smallest, and definitely the most energetic and enthusiastic! She had an absolute blast! And the Hubs and I probably had just as much fun watching! Check out the slideshow below.

I have never seen her more excited for anything! I didn't know what to expect since she has never taken classes before, but she walked right in and never looked back. She obviously felt very confident and did a great job listening to her coaches. She did get distracted a few times, but the coaches did a fantastic job of redirecting her attention. They were very positive and made if a lot of fun. I think we chose the right place! And I think that Cakes is going to really enjoy her weekly gymnastic classes.

From The Mouth Of Cakes
While the boy was resisting his nap yesterday, Cakes declares:
"Mama, him's crying irritates my ears!"
Ha! I'm sure they'll irritate each other quite a bit in their lifetime!

10 years

Ten years ago today I married my best friend. I know that sounds so cliche but I really did marry my best friend. He is the person that I want to be with at all times. He is the last person I want to see at night and the first person in the morning. We have spent the night apart from each other less than 5 times in those 10 years. Crazy, right?! I know, but it works. We choose to live our life together and will continue to do so...forever.

An afternoon at the park
Spring is around the corner and we had a taste of it last week. It was unseasonably warm and offered us the perfect opportunity for a family picnic. What a great time we had! Here is our happy family taken with my camera using the timer. I think it came out pretty good. Both kiddos are actually looking at the camera.
Cakes was excited to go and play and as soon as we were finished eating she was off...
I can't believe how big she's getting. She looks like a little girl and not a toddler anymore. It is just unbelievable how quickly they grow up!
Can you tell she was excited?! She was literally jumping up and down.

Sparky got to play as well. He had his first ride in a swing!

I think he enjoyed himself! Although this is his typical reaction to most things. He's a happy little guy!
And I had to include this picture. I'm not sure what he was looking at, but something caught his attention!

It was a perfect afternoon for our family of four! And not a day goes by that I am not thankful for our wonderful life.
The Boy - 5 months
- He weighs 17 pounds 9 ounces and is growing out of his 3-6 month clothes.
- He has become quite the eater and has definitely gotten the hang of it. He loves his mama-made sweet potatoes and acorn squash. Thinks the rice and oatmeal are okay.
- He adores his big sister and gives her big smiles whenever she is in his view.
- He loves his jump-a-roo and often jumps so hard that he gets some "big air"!
- He can sit unassisted for a minute or two.
- He is a DROOL-MONSTER! Teeth must be coming soon.
- And the best one....He sleeps from 8pm to 8am most days. Can I get a woot-woot?!

Visit with MoBe
MoBe (The Hubby's mom) and Emma (her dog) came for a visit this past weekend. Cakes, of course, insisted that her MoBe play barbies with her. Here's a cute shot of the two of them hamming it up for the camera.
We all had a good time enjoying each other's company, eating and shopping. It was a nice weekend!
From The Mouth Of Cakes
After going potty yesterday, Cakes yells from the bathroom
"Hey, come and see my turtles!"
Turtles? Oh....turdles! Turds! That's what she means. Haha!

Snow Day!
Monday morning we woke up to a cold and rainy day. The Hubs had a doctor appointment and on his way he called me and asked if it was snowing at our house. I looked outside and sure enough it was. It was dumping and it quickly covered the yard. Here's a picture of our backyard shortly after it started to snow. The flakes were huge! We got about 3 inches which is quite a bit for this area.
Later in the afternoon, once it stopped snowing, we decided to go outside and have some fun. Here's Cakes. She was excited to play in the snow!
First up was some skiing. It didn't work out...the snow was just too wet and sticky. But it was fun nonetheless!
Next up, sledding! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I think she had fun! She went up and down our yard many times.
And, of course, we had to build a snowman.
Sparky didn't miss out on the fun. He got "pushed" in his stroller by daddy snowman.
He was all bundled up and seemed to enjoy being out in the cold.
And here is our snow family...
