I'm so glad we're out of diapers so I don't have to even think through this question anymore!
Great idea linking the two - you've got some vision. Good luck with the cloth nappies, it makes sense to do more of this and encourage it.

I spent a bit of time researching cost/savings and such and found that it might not be more economical... but at least you aren't filling the landfills... right?
