Everyone has this problem I am pretty sure. Annie over at Mama Dweeb blogged about the Solo Socks dilemma the other day and I swore I was going to throw all of ours out. But I didn't.
This is what our laundry basket looks like.
I just did all of the laundry and these are all these stragglers. Where, oh where can the lost socks be??
Why can't I just throw these lonely socks away??
Look what happens to them all...
(I forgot to mention the lone newborn t-shirt that I don't know what to do with. The Bubby last wore it about 16 months ago!)
How can we keep from losing socks? Is this just one of those things in life that happen, no matter what we do? If so, then what can we do with all of our sock singletons beside throwing them away? I just can't bring myself to do it.
All you creative mama's please help me! Give me some fun, crafty ideas!

I have the same problem....I have them stuffed in a Walmart bag in my closet (hubbie was making fun of me). I'm a what-if person - what if the other sock comes back????
It's a conundrum in our household, too. Irritating, to say the least!
I was just wrestling with the same dilema myself today. The socks won and they are still alive for another week.

I guess everyone has a sock monster.
Somehow our socks always get separated during the laundry process! I actually now keep a laundry basket in my room where we throw all the socks and then once a week I go through and match them all!
HOWEVER, if you do have that lonely sock dilema, there are lots of creative sock uses - obviously the good old sock puppet, but if you sew, then there are lots of fun stuffed sock monster ideas, sock monkeys, turn socks into DS cases... google any of these and you should come up with some great tuts!

I don't have a *crafty/fun* idea, but my mom always had us dust with random (clean, of course) socks... she'd put them on our hands, spray a little wood oil on them and off we'd go!
I always buy the same socks so I can continue to match them as some disappear or get worn out.

haha! You too, eh? We have a basket in our house called "the lost sock basket" and let me tell you... it's full. Every so often I go through it and find a few matches, but it's truly alarming how many singles are still sitting in there.
There is something to be said for buying 36 pairs of identical socks... don't you think?
Oh funny. Check your bed sheets. I found a spare one there the other day.
The two years we lived in Hawaii I seldom lost a sock, but then again we seldom wore them! ;)
I kept a single sock for a whole year. It was one of my favorites and I kept hoping the other would turn it. It did -- a week after I finally tossed the first one away. Alas.
I have no ideas on how to prevent losing the socks, but I have that same problem. Seriously, I really can't figure out why I won't just let them go. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
