So far we have covered a couple of don'ts when cloth diapering. One is to not use detergents with extras in it, like enzymes and brighteners. Another is to never use fabric softener or dryer sheets. And finally, don't use diaper rash creams that contain fish oils (A&D), petrolatum, or zinc oxide, unless you use a liner to protect the diaper. The fish oils make your diapers stink, the petrolatum makes them repel, and the zinc oxide stains them.

I personally prefer not to use liners, so I use a cloth diaper-safe rash cream called Angel Baby Bottom Balm.
