After nine months on the market, several open houses, and lots of showings we finally got a buyer! We accepted their offer, the house has passed the inspection and appraisal, and now we are just waiting for closing. The date is set. June 27th. Less than three weeks to go. Packing is in full swing and we hope to be out by the 25th.
Other than packing our stuff up and moving it all out, what else needs to be done?
Of course, a good cleaning is in order. Everything will be cleaned, including the carpets. And the lawn will be freshly mowed and flower beds weeded. I also want to leave some sort of gift basket to welcome them into their new home.
But, what do we do about the small holes in the wall where pictures and shelves were hung? Should we patch the holes and do some touch up painting? Or is it just expected that there will be existing holes in the wall?
I want to make sure that everything goes smoothly with the final walk through and that I do the right things for the new owners.
I need your input! What's the standard home transfer etiquette?
Thanks in advance for your help! :)
