I'm glad you are doing good keeping up with it. I love the book of Genesis. The history of the Jewish nation always fascinates me. It's real-life, no glossing things over in there. I had a friend say that Gen 38 is one of the raciest things ever written.

How funny, I have started the Bible in 180 days. I am SOOO behind! But, I'm sticking with it and it may not be 180 days but I am reading and will have it done this year.

And, I agree, it is an easy ready and I am learning a LOT. I think I am a lot like you. My parents didn't raise us with this stuff. They know it because they went to church. Brandon and I didn't. So far, it is pretty cool.

that is fabulous to hear! I graduated with a degree in Bible from a Christian College and still can't say I have read every single word in the Bible. I really want to though. Your post really encouraged me to MAKE time. that is what it boils down to!

And it really is shocking how much terribleness is in the Bible, it really does make it interesting to say the least.

Way to go!! I am so glad you are enjoing it. I think it is the greatest story ever told. I hope you stay excited about it. Just beware 1 and 2 chronicles are a little hard to read and you may lose heart there, but just remember they are only two books and though for the most part they are a little boring they hold a few key verses. Enjoy!

Way to go, Chanda. I found Bible studies useful for me when I wanted to learn more about the Bible. I took one on Genesis (awesome), John (even more awesome), Matthew and Revelations (the most awesome of all). I have read the other Gospels and letters in the New Testament. My daughter just finished the old and has challenged me to do the same. I think I'll enjoy most of it (not eager for Deuteronomy) Keep us posted!

I am so excited and happy for you! The Bible is an interesting read. Have you considered finding a good church to start a church family? Hubby and I found the perfect fit in a medium sized church last year and got activley involved in bible study, bible school, and several other church activies. It has really helped us grow as Christians! Blessings!!!

God absolutely has a plan for you, it reminds me of when my oldest son was younger, we'd read about a Bible "hero" like Moses. I'd say "God had big plans for Moses, didn't he?" my little boy would say "Yep" and I would say "God has big plans for you too!"
